It is an opt-in trial of HTML videos on YouTube. You can view videos in the HTML5 player instead of the regular flash player. A supported browser is required to view the videos in HTML5 as other browsers would not be able to read the video tag in HTML5. The browser should also support either the WebM format(with VP8 codec) or the h.264 video codec. The supported browsers are :-
- Firefox 4
- Google Chrome
- Opera 10.6 and above
- Apple Safari
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 Beta
- Internet Explorer with 6,7 or 8 with Google Chrome Frame installed.
